Before Your Treatment
4Avoid blood thinnersAvoid aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil (omega-3), and other medications or supplements that thin the blood 7 days before your procedure to limit the risk of bruising. Never stop a prescribed medication (anticoagulant, aspirin for cardiac purposes) without your doctor's approval.
Avoid AlcoholDo not consume alcoholic beverages for at least 48 hours before the treatment: alcohol can increase bleeding and bruising.
Arrive with a clean faceCome to your appointment with a clean face, without makeup, cream, or other skincare products, to reduce the risk of infection.
After Your Treatment
11Do not touch / massage the areaDo not touch, press, or massage the treated area for at least 24 hours to avoid filler migration.
Sleep with Head ElevatedSleep with your head elevated on 2 to 3 pillows the first night to reduce swelling.
Apply IceApply ice packs wrapped in a cloth to the treated area for 10 to 15 minutes several times a day to reduce swelling and bruising.
